Price Intelligence

What is Price Intelligence?
Price intelligence (or pricing intelligence) is the discipline of turning raw competitor and market pricing data into actionable commercial decisions — where to position each product, when to promote, and where margin can be recovered without losing sales. It sits one level above price monitoring: monitoring produces the data, intelligence produces the decision.

A price intelligence workflow combines monitored competitor prices with internal data such as costs, sales velocity, and stock levels. Typical outputs include price index reports against key competitors, alerts when a strategic SKU is undercut, elasticity-informed price recommendations, and category-level views of assortment overlap.

Retailers, brands, and marketplaces use price intelligence to move from reactive, gut-feel pricing to a measurable strategy, and it is the data layer that AI-driven dynamic pricing models are trained and evaluated on.
